Domestic Violence Wears Many Tags & UnIDMV & An Earthly Embrace hosts its Seventh Annual Passion Over Poverty Teen & Young Adult Talent Showcase
What: 7th annual Passion Over Poverty Teen & Young Adult Talent Showcase, which uses talent as a way to help sober anger, frustration, low self-esteem in our teens & young adults. Teens & Young Adults that find their passion after being victims of childhood domestic violence, family violence, and or teen dating violence are likely to succeed, because they find their positive outlet in their passion. Expressive arts have long been used with children to promote psychological health and social support. They offer children “a way to express their feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and memories in ways that words cannot” (Malchiodi, 2005).

When: Main event is Friday, February 23rd, 2018 doors open at 5pm. The showcase is talented and positive teen rappers, musicians, singers, dancers and more.
Where: Auditions are at Ridge Road Community Center, 830 Ridge RD SE, Washington, DC.
Details: Teen Talent Showcase are free, and for ages 7-24. Free admission for the family! The main event Friday, Feb 23rd doors open 5pm community oriented event, inviting people of all ages to enjoy while bringing awareness to Teen Dating Violence & Black History. We are committed to helping our youth choose their passion over poverty, over their naysayers; we are committed to helping the DMV up & coming artist by giving them a platform to discover and grow their talent. Community support as we know you are committed too!!!
About: DVWMT Domestic Violence Wears Many Tags mission is to bring awareness to the community and families as whole as it pertains to abuse. We want to educate schools, churches, and mentor groups by reprogramming the amygdala with better decision making skills.
