As we elevate teachers and students as changemakers, we’re honored to work with Teaching for Change to organize the DC Area Black Lives Matter Week of Action in Schools to empower educators and community members across the District to address issues of racial justice and elevate the voices of young people of color.
Interschool Seminars bring students together monthly from public, public charter, and private schools across the District to discuss and examine contemporary social justice issues.
On February 8, join us for a special Black Lives Matter Week of Action Interschool Seminar where both students and adults are invited to promote authentic, intergenerational dialogue about race & society.
For the evening of Socratic Seminars, adults will actively listen to student-facilitated conversations about topics related to Black Lives Matter, and reflect in the moment with students.
Register to attend. Prior to the event, you will select one of the student-chosen topics. Topics and a brief reading will be sent 2 weeks beforehand.
If you are a teacher interested in bringing high school students to participate in Interschool Seminar, email Senior Teaching & Learning officer, Cosby Hunt ([email protected])
