The Metropolitan Washington Chapter of the National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) is excited to invite you to the first Metropolitan Washington Area Reverse Trade Show.

This Reverse Trade Show is an event that allows vendors, suppliers, consultants, and contractors the opportunity to meet with contracting professionals from Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia governmental procurement agencies in one room.

How many agencies is the NIGP Chapter expecting?

We are poised to host 30 DC agencies, 15 Maryland agencies, and 15 Virginia agencies, with each agency providing two agency staff members for good interactive discussions with you.

What should vendors expect at this Reverse Trade Show?

At this event, the various government agencies will be the ‘exhibitors’ and you will be the ‘attendees’. You can walk around the trade show floor and talk to agencies about the products and services you have to offer. Agency program managers, directors, and agency staff will have an open dialogue with you regarding business opportunities, agency needs, and tips for doing business with the agency.

The Reverse Trade Show includes three different vendor workshops. Attendees will receive coffee and lunch with agency staff. The event breakdown for vendors is as follows:

  • 9:00AM – 10:00AM Vendor Check-in & Coffee
  • 10:00AM – 2:00PM Reverse Trade Show Open
  • 10:00AM 11:00AM Workshop 1
  • 11:00AM 12:00PM Workshop 2
  • 12:00PM – 1:00PM Lunch
  • 1:00PM – 2:00PM Workshop 3

How can vendors register?

Register your company to have up to two company representatives attend the Reverse Trade Show. Registration is $200. Each company registration is limited to two representatives.

What are the transportation & parking options for the event?

The University of the District of Columbia Student Center is conveniently located at the Van Ness Metro Station. The college also has garage parking on campus – check out UDC Parking for price and parking details. Metered street parking is sparsely available around the college.

What is the goal of this Reverse Trade Show?

The goal of this event is to equip the business community with the knowledge to compete for contracts in the Metropolitan Washington area. The Metropolitan Washington Chapter of NIGP is geared for success with your participation.
