K.I.N.G.S (Kids In Need of Great Success) is a program for gifted minority male educators in the Greater Washington, DC area. Come network and engage with leading male educators of color.
In many urban cities in the US, minority students are the majority in our public school classrooms. However, male educators of color remain underrepresented in classroom leadership, education roles and in impactful administrative positions.
The push in the nation's school districts to staff classrooms with more males of color has become increasingly urgent. Only 2 percent of U.S. teachers are Latino men, fewer than 2 percent are Black men, and just half a percent are Asian men. Additionally, minority male educators are leaving the profession at alarming rates.
Minority Male Educators will gather on February 21st to network and stand in solidarity and proud of our space as leaders in education.
