Event Details

Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) are emerging health care technologies. Faculty across the medical center are experimenting with the use of VR/AR for pain and stress management, symptom control, procedure optimization, patient education, and student training. These technologies provide natural opportunities for novel multidisciplinary research, advancements in team based clinical care, new and adjunctive teaching methodologies, and innovation. Addressing these research questions require new big data approaches for acquiring data, developing and adapting methodologies, and considerations around ethical practices and data-sharing. This salon is intended to bring together faculty from a wide spectrum of disciplines and expertise, from those excited by the possibilities but not necessarily having experience with VR/AR and related technologies.
