Event Details

Since the Presidential election of 2016, more and more women have decided to run for office at every level. What role has mentorship played for women candidates? This signature GWA mentor program luncheon features an intergenerational conversation about mentoring in politics at-large. We will be joined by:
  • Helen Brosnan: Executive director of Rise to Run, which prepares high-school and college-aged women to run for office.
  • Natalie Montelongo: An organizer for immigrant rights at Voto Latino and Rise to Run board member.
  • Allyson Carpenter: A student leader at Howard University, she is the youngest elected official in the history of the nation’s capital.

Lunch will be provided at this event. Please email [email protected] to alert us of any dietary restrictions.
