The electrification of transportation is picking up pace in the US and Germany. This development offers an opportunity to reduce carbon emissions and improve local air quality. However, it also presents a challenge for industry and society. Germany, home to some of the most prestigious carmakers, actively supports the switch to electric vehicles. The German Government is investing in the electrification of all transport modes through incentives in R&D, procurement, and charging infrastructure.
In cooperation with German car manufacturers, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the US is presenting a showcase on E-mobility in 2018. The Embassy will successively convert its fleet to plug-in hybrids and complement it with battery electric vehicles.
In the run-up to the Washington Auto Show, German Ambassador Peter Wittig will officially kick off the project at the Mobility Talks International Forum, on January 23.
Please join us for this event and a panel discussion on the opportunities and challenges of e-mobility in the US and Germany with key representatives of the German and US governments and the auto industry. Participants will include BMW, Bosch, Mercedes-Benz, and the Volkswagen Group.
