You're invited to the 9th annual Stars of Tomorrow 10U Junior Challenge, hosted by DC Department of Parks and Recreation, Events DC and the Citi Open. The competition will be held at the Rock Creek Tennis Center during the Citi Open - 12:30pm-5:30pm from Monday, July 30 through Friday, August 3, 2018.
The Stars of Tomorrow Junior Challenge is an invitation-only competition open to ten co-ed teams of three boys and three girls who will participate in both singles and doubles competition. The teams will have the opportunity to train with their teammates and coach as well as compete in round robin play from Monday through Friday at the Citi Open. The matches will be held on both hard and clay courts. The competition will culminate with the final round matches on Friday to determine competition placement. Each round will be comprised of four individual matches; boy’s singles, girl’s singles, boy’s doubles and girl’s doubles. All matches will be 8-game pro sets with no ad scoring and played with “green dot balls”. Each match will count for one point and will be played in accordance with USTA rules and regulations. Stars of Tomorrow Challenge will be a USTA sanctioned tournament and a USTA sanctioned Junior Team Tennis. All players will receive 10U USTA points for participating in this event.
Each player will receive one (1) reserved seat ticket for themselves as well as one (1) additional guest reserved seat ticket for admission to watch the professional matches from Monday through Friday. In addition, Citi Open will provide daily lunches (12:30pm-1:30pm) for the players as well as autograph sessions and hitting sessions with ATP/WTA players and their coaches. The on-court training and match play will run from 1:30pm-5:30pm. All players and coaches will be honored with a special trophy presentation on Stadium Court on Friday night, August 3. The winning team will receive box seat tickets to the Sunday Finals! The Stars of Tomorrow player registration entry fee is $395/per player.
