The Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) announced on January 3, 2018 that 4,486 H-2B applications were filed for a total of 80,801 H-2B workers on January 1, 2018. There are only 33,000 visas available for the second half of 2018 meaning the applications filed on January 1 alone exceed the supply of visas by over 47,000 workers!
The H-2B program is in crisis. If cap relief is not granted, at least one in every two H-2B employers will not receive their workers for FY 18.
Over the last month hundreds of H-2B employers have contacted their representatives'. It is making a difference but we cannot leave anything on the table in the fight to achieve H-2B cap relief for 2018. This is why we are going to descend on D.C. on February 15 and 16 for the Fly-In of all Fly-Ins. If your company and your U.S workforce is dependent on your H-2B workforce then make it a priority to be in D.C. on February 15 and 16.
