Join us for a screening of Ava DuVernay's award-winning documentary on race, mass incarceration, and the criminilzation of African Americans in the United States.
Following the film, we'll have a brief discussion featuring guest speaker Nicole D. Porter, Director of Advocacy for The Sentencing Project. Founded in 1986, The Sentencing Project works for a fair and effective U.S. criminal justice system by promoting reforms in sentencing policy, addressing unjust racial disparities and practices, and advocating for alternatives to incarceration.
