Do you believe that students should be exposed to more art in schools? Are you a passionate painter who’d love to teach third graders how to create illustrate their own books like Ezra Jack Keets? Perhaps you’re a talented actor or actress who could lead fifth graders in improv as an icebreaker before the start of class? Or maybe you’re an engaging spoken word artist yearning to teach creative writing to a ninth grader? If so, we’re looking for you!
Enriched is an educational talent hub that connects great people to over 30 great schools in Washington, DC. We are grounded in the belief that every minute in the classroom should be impactful and ignite creativity within our students.
Come out to the Congress Heights Arts and Cultural Center for a fun night aiming to share about opportunities with Enriched led by our very own Enriched Guest Educator Tre Wilkes. Tramaine Wilkes or, ‘Tre” is a US Navy Veteran from Greensboro, NC who is a recent transplant to Washington DC. A professional artist who uses his talents to enrich the artist community and is a contributor to the Congress Heights Arts and Cultural Center. Tre works primarily with painting (even though he’s well versed with all artistic tools) with the belief that art is and always will be the vehicle for change.
His works are representations of seemingly concrete issues; references the ideas of liberation as a form of resistance against the current American system of liberty, situations of the African American, as well as depictions and ideas that can only be visualized through painting.
“Teachers helped me to change the personal narrative of my life. The future is in the youth. We should engage them with love and commitment. I want to give back to the youth as the teachers in my life have given to me. Every generation has a duty and responsibility; they will either fulfill it or betray it.” -Tre Wilkes
Join Enriched to express your art and and equip the future with the tools they need to tap into their creative side.
