This workshop, which takes place over five weeks, aims to experiment and explore issues of identity and race in poetic form. Read contemporary poets of color such as Claudia Rankine, R Zamora Linmark, and Sherman Alexie, then write and share your own poems in a safe and supportive space. We will also read excerpts of essays on the intersection of race adn poetry to help contextualize our writing, and discuss ways of navigating the publishing world as writers of color.
Note: When you buy a ticket, your one ticket is good for all five meetings: Monday, February 26; Monday, March 5; Monday, March 12; Monday, March 19; and Monday, March 26. Each workshop will be from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m.
