Please join the Center for Latin American & Latino Studies in welcoming Elizabeth Jelin, renowned Argentine sociologist for a conversation on her newest book, La lucha por el pasado: cómo construimos la memoria social. Known for her work on memory, human rights, citizenship, social movements, and gender, Jelin's newest work expands upon her work on memory as a social construct and the tensions in articulating different—and oftern conflicting—memories of political and state oppression.
