Join us for one or both of these leadership events on Thursday, May 17 to showcase and celebrate leading-edge thinking and achievements in landscape architecture and sustainability.

LAF Innovation + Leadership Symposium - 4:00-6:45 pm - House of Sweden, 2900 K Street NW, Washington D.C. (2.0 LA CES CEU credits available) - SOLD OUT

In what promises to be a powerful event, the six inaugural LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership recipients will present their projects on homelessness and public space, environmental equity in Los Angeles public schools, resilient water management in India, growing future landscape architects, creating multi-purpose highway corridors, and reinventing public spaces in the American south.

The symposium is the culmination of the year-long LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership, a unique program and $25,000 award that supports mid-career, senior-level, and emerging professionals as they develop and test new ideas that will drive the future of the landscape architecture discipline.

2.0 LA CES CEU credits are available to attendees and the presentations will be followed by a cocktail hour where guests can mingle and meet the Fellows.

2018 LAF Awards Dinner - 7-9:30pm - Sequoia, 3000 K Street NW, Washington D.C.

Immediately following the symposium, LAF will host an awards dinner to recognize the 2018 recipients of the LAF Medal and Founders’ Award, our highest honors for individuals and organizations that have made a significant and sustained contribution to the LAF mission of supporting the preservation, improvement, and enhancement of the environment. Carol Franklin, FASLA, PLA, a founding principal of Andropogon Associates, Ltd. will be presented with the 2018 LAF Medal. The Trust for Public Land will receive the 2018 Founders’ Award.

The LAF Awards Dinner will be an opportunity to not only to recognize Carol Franklin and TPL, but also to continue conversations with the 2017-2018 Fellows, to meet the 2018-2019 Fellowship cohort, and to mingle with LAF's Board of Directors and other invited guests.

There is a combined ticket option for attendees who plan to attend both events, or tickets can be purchased separately for those who would only like to attend one of the events. Student pricing is also available for the symposium.

Please note that tickets may be transferred to a new attendee, but refunds will not be granted for either event.
