R. Donahue Peebles is a real estate entrepreneur, author, and political activist. Peebles is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of the Peebles Corporation, a development company of luxury hotels, high-rise residential and commercial properties in New York City Washington, D.C., Boston, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Miami Beach. Peebles owns 100% of The Peebles Corporation. In April 2015, Black Enterprise named Peebles as one of the "Business Trailblazers and Titans of Black America: 40 most powerful African Americans in business".
The company is the largest black-owned real estate company in the nation and has become an industry leader with a portfolio of completed and current developments totaling more than 7 million square feet and $6 billion in major cities including New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco, Charlotte, and Miami.
In May 2009, Forbes listed Peebles in the top ten of the wealthiest black Americans, and in January 2015 it estimated his net worth to be over $700 million.
In 2004, Peebles was elected as chairman of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and has been recognized by various organizations for his leadership and innovation. Also in 2004, the Peebles Corporation was recognized by Black Enterprise as "Company of the Year.”
He was named “Trailblazer of the Year” by the Metropolitan Black Bar Association in 2016
In 2017, the New York City Mission Society honored Peebles with its “Champions for Children” award.

Thomas A. Moorehead, founded The Joyce & Thomas Morehead Foundation with his wife. The foundation has provided more than $2,500,000 in charitable assistance HBCUs, to working families and non-profit organizations in northern Virginia and greater Washington, D.C. Joyce, an attorney and Thomas Moorehead, a 26 year veteran of the automotive industry, own Sterling Motor Cars, which consist of the largest African American owned BMW franchise in the nation. Sterling Motor Cars, established in 2002 is the leading provider of luxury cars in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Luxury brands include BMW of Sterling, Lamborghini Sterling, McLaren Sterling, Rolls Royce Motor Cars Sterling, Mini of Sterling, and Harley-Davidson.
Thomas, as owner of BMW of Sterling and MINI of Sterling, was recognized by Black Enterprise magazine as its 2007 Automobile Dealer of the Year.
Thomas also own several hotel properties located throughout the nation.
Thomas is currently the Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers (NAMAD), which works to improve opportunities for all minority automobile dealers in the industry. Thomas is a significant annual contributor to at least three historically black institutions of higher learning: Howard University, Grambling State University, Bethune Cookman University and several other civic and charitable organizations. His commitment to education led them to endow scholarships through the Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund and to fund the Moorehead Learning Center at the headquarters of a local chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
