On behalf of the Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs and the District of Columbia’s Mayor’s Advisory Board on Veterans Affairs, we thank you for your willingness to participate in DC’s 2018 Veterans’ Forum. It will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at One Judiciary Square (441 4th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001), on the 11th floor.
The theme for this year’s Forum is “Helping DC become an even better place for veterans to live." Event participants, which will include DC veterans and Veterans Service Organizations, will identify challenges facing DC’s veterans. These challenges will then help the Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs and the Mayor’s Advisory Board on Veterans Affairs identify potential administrative and policy solutions that District leaders can work to implement.
The Forum will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. with opening remarks and a general overview of the plan for the morning. Light refreshments will be offered starting at 8:30 a.m. Please plan to arrive early to sign in, receive your registration packet, and meet other Forum participants. The working groups will have facilitated discussions covering broad topics and reconvene in a plenary session late in the morning to highlight the challenges that they have identified. The Veterans’ Forum will conclude at 12:00 p.m.
Thank you for your attention and interest in improving the quality of life for veterans and their families in the District. If you have any questions please contact either Mr. Nachee Miller at [email protected] or Mr. Elliot Tommingo at [email protected]
