Little Academy DC presents its Summer 2018 Course Catalog. Our fifth summer course is The Films of French New Wave, taught by Kylos Brannon.
Rising in the early 1960s, the French New Wave is one of the most influential film movements, ever. For this session, we will examine some of the major players, influential films, and also some of the storytelling and technical approaches that still resonate with film makers today. France, cinema, and drinks? Mais oui.
Kylos Brannon is a Professor & Associate Director in the School of Communication at American University. For the last 10 years he’s taught a class on the Masters of European Cinema. When not teaching, he is a video artist specializing in live performances. Most recent works include immersive projections for 410 Gone (Rorschach Theatre); art installations (Little Salon DC, Honfleur Gallery); and a performance piece titled Exquisite Depths (Sourcefest DC). As a VJ he creates live video mash ups for DJs, performing at 930 Club, U Street Music Hall, The Black Cat, and other venues.
