Farmers' Market Brigade volunteers help to increase food access at DC farmers' markets by supporting the Produce Plus program. Through Produce Plus, SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, Medicare QMB, Grocery Plus (Senior CSFP), TANF, and SSI disability recipients are eligible to receive up to $10 twice per week week to purchase fresh produce from local farmers.
If you are passionate about fresh food and wish to be an active community member in your neighborhood,
then we need your help to offer Produce Plus for the 2018 farmers’ market season! All volunteers, returning and new, are required to attend a training to volunteer with the 2018 Produce Plus program.
This training will take place at the DC Greens office, located at 2000 P St NW Washington DC 20036. The training is metro-accessible (Dupont Circle stop on the red line) and accessible by bus. Street parking is very limited. To gain access to the DC Greens office building in Suite 240, dial #240 or use the buzzer by pressing the up or down arrows, landing on "DC Greens", and pressing the call button. This building is ADA accessible.
Feel free to bring water and a snack with you!
Thank you in advance for canceling your order if you register and are no longer able to attend this training.
