Join us for Boating in the Water Lilies

at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

(as part of Peak Week 2018)

Presented by the National Park Service and

Co-sponsored by the Anacostia Watershed Society

Join us for a unique and free experience to for visitors to enjoy the park and learn about the history and ecology of the Anacostia River which borders the Aquatic Gardens.

What: Two 1-hour boating opportunities on a pootoon boat with interpretation by the Anacostia Watershed Society. Pre-Registration is required as seating is limited.

Please Bring: Water, wear sunscreen, insect repellent and wear hats or sun gear.

Meeting Location: Meet at the Visitor's Center at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, NPS 15 minutes prior to your scheduled boating trip for collection of the required waivers.

More Information: Learn about the water lilies as well as amazing resilient Anacostia River which feeds into the aquatic gardens. During this experience you will learn about how our actions everyday affect the river and current ongoing efforts taking place to restore the river to be swimmable and fishable. Lastly, you'll learn about the many exciting opportunities to continue to engage with the river through recreational and volunteer opportunities.
