Join us for Boating in the Water Lilies
at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

Join us for a unique and free experience to for visitors to enjoy the park and learn about the history and ecology of the Anacostia River which borders the Aquatic Gardens.
What: Two 1-hour boating opportunities on a pootoon boat with interpretation by the Anacostia Watershed Society. Pre-Registration is required as seating is limited.
Please Bring: Water, wear sunscreen, insect repellent and wear hats or sun gear.
Meeting Location: Meet at the Kenilworth Park at the boat launch 15 minutes prior to your scheduled boating trip for collection of the required waivers. The main entrance to Kenilworth Park is located at intersection of Deane Ave NE and Kenilworth Terrace NE. (NOTE: This event does not take place at or meet at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens.)
More Information: Learn about the water lilies as well as amazing resilient Anacostia River which feeds into the aquatic gardens. During this experience you will learn about how our actions everyday affect the river and current ongoing efforts taking place to restore the river to be swimmable and fishable. Lastly, you'll learn about the many exciting opportunities to continue to engage with the river through recreational and volunteer opportunities.
