OCTO’s two-day intermediate Tableau course is designed for analysts and District of Columbia agency staff who have a solid working experience with Tableau and want to take it to the next level. You should have a deep understanding of all the fundamental concepts of building worksheets and dashboards, but may have trouble when working with complex issues. The training is for DC government employees only.
1) A perpetual Tableau Desktop Pro license installed on your laptop.
2) Taken OCTO's Tableau Fundamentals class or have commensurate experience.
3) Bring a laptop computer with Tableau Desktop Pro installed, a mouse for your laptop, and a power cord both days.
Unfortunately OCTO does not provide laptops or Tableau Desktop Pro for training (free trial licensing is available from Tableau).
The training will cover the intermediate concepts of working in Tableau Desktop Pro, which includes: creating an effective agency performance dashboard using layout containers, dashboard design best practices, benchmark calculations, benchmark visualizations, parameters, and dashboard actions.
No charge; included in OCTO’s BI program.
HERE is the course agenda and learning objectives for both days. Meals will not be provided; there are a variety of lunch options within walking distance.
