Join us for a fun-filled evening celebrating the spirit of Haiti featuring a gourmet prix fixe menu by Haiti-based Chef Stephan Berrouet Durand. Born and raised in Haiti, Chef Stephan promotes Haitian Gastronomy all over the world. He draws inspiration from Louisiana's Creole cuisine and American Soul Food, and has prepared meals at the White House for the 2016 Caribbean Heritage Month and 2 James Beard Dinners in 2018.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to Project Esperanza, a nonprofit in the Dominican Republic that provides education and social support services for Haitian refugee children and families. Last July, event hosts Nicole and Maya Tysvaer had the privilege of volunteering at Project Esperanza’s Summer English Language Immersion Camp in Puerto Plata. We were extremely impressed by the work of Co-Founder and Director Caitlin McHale and all the wonderful staff and students, who warmed our hearts with their friendship, kindness, and sense of community. Since 2006, Project Esperanza has accomplished many things with limited financial resources. We hope you’ll join us in supporting this incredibly worthy organization.
