Described as "passionate, electrifying, and innovative," international recording artists Chelsey Green and The Green Project break down stereotypes of string playing. Fusing traditional classical technique with popular songs and original pieces in various genres - including R&B, Pop, Soul, Funk, Jazz and more - Chelsey Green brings vibrant violin, viola and rich vocals to audiences in a whole new way.
A native of Houston, Texas, Dr. Chelsey Green was born into a family of jazz and funk musicians and started her performance career at age 5. Chelsey and her ensemble, The Green Project, have released four studio recordings; one of which, The Green Room, debuted on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart.
Touring both domestically and abroad, Chelsey Green and The Green Project have performed shows and presented educational workshops all around the world; including the opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, Capital Jazz Supercruise XI (Bermuda), DC Jazz Festival, The Citadel in Cairo, Egypt, Bahrain Spring of Culture Festival and even becoming the first American/African American artists to ever perform the Kuwait National Opera House.
Dedicated to educating youth, Chelsey Green and The Green Project also spend time devoted to the community by providing a wide range of educational music workshops to city and county schools, after school programs and educational groups worldwide. Hear and see more at www.chelseygreen.com today!
